We have been very busy this November!
Writing: Students have been working to complete their literary essay unit. They just finished writing a literary essay based on the short story Marble Champ. I am amazed at what your students have produced, and feel as if you will also be surprised by the maturity of their writing.
As we look forward to December we will be working on Explorer Journals to practice our story telling through the lens of history.
Reading: We finished up our book clubs last week and have been working hard to practice our reading while annotating the Marble Champ. We also have been practicing reading skills like theme and characters. We will begin our poetry unit following Fall break. Part of our poetry unit includes a book club focused on books written in verse.
Math: We just completed our Module 2 work. Next up: Module 5 Volume. We will be doing a volume project in school in between the two breaks!
Happenings:
We had a blast on our Tilden field trip! Students got to explore the ways Native Americans lived while trekking through the beautiful Tilden park. This was a small little taste of outdoor education, with rain and all!!!
Camp Arroyo is fast approaching, we go February 25-28. Camp Packets will be sent home before Thanksgiving break. These are due back no later than January 10, 2020.
Hope you all have a wonderful Fall break!!
